Are you walking in Self-Righteousness or Righteousness that is a free gift from Jesus?

Believers often struggle to try to obey the law in order to become more righteous.  By doing this, we are mixing law and grace together which is actually mixing our self-righteousness with the free gift of righteousness that Jesus died to give us. Mixing these things together will create a lukewarm struggling Christian who will always be sin conscious and never getting free.

The moment we believed in Jesus, He gave us His very own righteousness.  He made us righteous.  We are as righteous as Jesus is.  We cannot become anymore righteous. The righteousness that comes from believing in Jesus is a free gift.  It cannot be earned, merited or deserved.  We receive it by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
